School Uniform
Our school colours are red, grey and white. We feel that the wearing of school uniform can help to develop a sense of pride and belonging to a group. Our uniform is as below:
- Boys: Grey trousers or smart shorts
White shirt/polo shirt
Red sweatshirt or jumper
Smart black school shoes
- Girls: Grey skirt or pinafore dress
Grey trousers
White blouse/polo shirt
Red sweatshirt, cardigan or jumper
Smart black school shoes
We would ask also that children are provided with PE clothing within the colour range. This should include a pair of black shorts, white t-shirt and correctly fitting plimsols.
Clothing is available from Simply First (Derby Road, Stapleford). Click the link to visit their website. Parents can also get school uniform from most large supermarkets. Suggested additional items include:
- Red gingham dresses
- Red fleece with or without school logo
- Red knitted hats
- Baseball caps/sun hats (essential in the summer months)
- Reversible waterproof coat/fleece
- Reading bags
- PE bags
We do not allow children to wear jewellery for health and safety reasons other than a basic watch. If your child already has pierced ears, plain stud earrings only may be worn. Even these must be removed by the child for PE (Local Authority statutory requirement for schools).
Although we don’t insist on a uniform for our nursery children, we do feel that this helps children to feel part of our school community and so would encourage them to do so. We have aprons available for messy activities. It helps us to encourage independence if the children have clothes with easy fastenings which they can do themselves. Sometimes the children need to take their shoes on and off so please avoid tricky laces or buckles.
