Nursery Times
Morning session 8.40 am - 11.40 am
Afternoon session 12.35pm - 3.35 pm
The nursery staff will open their doors at 3.30pm for a 3.35pm finish so that any parents collecting infant-age children also, can start to pick up their nursery children slightly earlier.
Please make every effort to arrive at school punctually as a calm start to the day is very important for young children
Emergency Details
Please keep school up to date with telephone and mobile numbers. It is important that we have the correct information as this can save your child much unnecessary distress.
Absence from Nursery
Please let us know if your child is absent from Nursery as soon as possible. This can be done by telephone, verbal message, or letter.
Medicines
We are happy to help with medication, but we can only administer medicine prescribed by the doctor. Please take the medicine and instructions to the office. You will be asked to sign an authorisation form, and to put a measured dose into a small container, which we will keep in the fridge until required.
Holidays
Wherever possible, we do encourage you to take your holidays during school breaks. Children do not make progress with their learning if they miss nursery.
Out of school visits
As part of your child’s education, short visits to local amenities such as the church and the shops, are planned into the curriculum throughout the year. A Parental Consent Form is completed for these activities.
We will seek separate authorisation for whole day visits involving transport.
Photographs
Occasionally children’s photographs are included in our school website or in local papers to celebrate school achievements. We are proud for this to happen, and never give out children’s names. Please read our policy on the use of images. A Parental Consent Form is completed for this.
Milk and Healthy Living/Baking money
Milk is free to Nursery children and healthy living is £2.50 per term. Money should be sent to the school office in a sealed envelope with your child’s name clearly marked.
Helping in school
We love parents (and grandparents!) coming into school to work alongside children. If you have a little spare time and would like to help, just pop in and let us know. You will be made very welcome!
Complaints
A procedure has been agreed by the local Authority for dealing with any complaints about the school curriculum and other related issues. A copy of this complaints procedure is available for reference at the school. The procedure provides:
a) that there should normally be a preliminary informal discussion with the Head Teacher or other appropriate school staff to see if the complaint can be resolved without recourse to the formal procedures.
