Albany Helping Hands is a group of volunteering parents, carers and staff that meet throughout the year informally, to discuss and arrange fundraising ideas for the school. Events last year included school discos, an Easter Cake Stall, a ladies fashion night and selling refreshments at school productions and the Art Galleries.
Last year from money raised we paid for new play kitchens for the reception classes, visits from a Puppet Theatre and Key Strings which were enjoyed by all the children and staff. We also paid for the Living Egg experience enjoyed by all the children, which led to us purchasing a hen house for the three hens adopted by the school. We also helped with funding for the Nursery trip to Ferry Farm.
This Year we are again hoping to fund a visit from the puppet theatre. In addition we hope to fund lots of fun educational activities to benefit all the children in both the Nursery and Infant Schools.
We always welcome new members to our team. If you can spare some time to either join the group and/or help at disco’s etc, we would be very grateful (younger children welcome). If you have any ideas for fundraising, please let us know – we are always looking for inspiration for new ways to raise funds.
If you are unable to attend our meetings, there are other ways you can help. We are always looking for any unwanted presents, cuddly toys, games, toys, toiletries etc. for our tombolas and raffles. Maybe you work for a company that can make a donation to the school, or runs a scheme to help schools, if so please let us know. We are grateful for all donations and all the money raised goes towards buying those little extras for our school.
If you cannot make any meetings but would like details of any of the items we have discussed, please let us know you can leave a message for us at the school office and we would gladly contact you.
Our activities could not take place without your support, please come along and join us.
